Every visit includes.

No tiers and no upsells for the basics. A finished-looking lawn takes all of it, every time.

  1. 01

    Cut at the right height

Set for the season and grass type, and never scalped. Usually 3 to 3½ inches through summer.

  2. 02

    String trimming

Around fences, beds, trees, posts, mailboxes and anything else the mower can’t reach.

  3. 03

    Hard edging

A crisp line along driveways, walks and curbs, so the lawn reads as finished.

  4. 04

    Cleanup

Clippings blown off every hard surface. Nothing left on the drive, patio or street.

  5. 05

    Mulched clippings

Returned to the lawn as free fertilizer, unless you’d rather have them bagged.

  6. 06

    Alternating patterns

We change mowing direction from visit to visit to prevent ruts and matted grass.

  7. 07

    Sharp blades, every week

A clean cut heals quickly and stays green. A dull blade tears and leaves brown tips.

Why height matters

The one-third rule.

Cutting more than a third of the blade at once shocks the plant. It stops growing roots, thins out, and leaves room for weeds and summer browning.

Cool-season lawns here, mostly bluegrass, fescue and rye, do best kept at 3 to 3½ inches through summer. Taller grass shades the soil, holds moisture and crowds out crabgrass. That’s why we mow on a schedule instead of waiting until the lawn looks long.

The one-third rule Grass grown to 4.5 inches should be cut back to 3 inches, removing no more than one third of the blade. 0″ 1″ 2″ 3″ 4″ remove ≤ ⅓ cut to 3″ keep ⅔

Weekly or biweekly?

The right schedule depends on how fast your lawn grows and how it needs to look. We’ll recommend one, and tell you honestly if a lawn has outgrown it.

Weekly Recommended for most lawns

In mid-spring and early summer, grass can grow an inch or more a week. Weekly visits keep every cut within the one-third rule and the property looking sharp all the time.

  • Actively growing, well-watered lawns
  • Commercial frontage and HOA common areas
  • Homes where curb appeal matters every day

Biweekly For slower growth

A good fit for shaded or slow-growing lawns, the dry stretch of late summer, and properties where budget matters more than a perfect edge every seven days.

  • Shaded or low-input lawns
  • Late-summer heat and drought
  • Secondary or rental properties

Mowing questions.

Do you bag clippings?

Not by default. Mulched clippings break down within days and return nitrogen to the soil. Bagging is available on request, and we usually recommend it for the first spring cut or an overgrown lawn.

When does the mowing season start and end?

Typically mid-April through early November here, depending on the weather. We start when the grass does, once soil temperatures reach the mid-50s, and finish with a slightly shorter final cut in fall.

What happens if it rains on my service day?

We move to the next workable day and let you know. Mowing wet grass tears the blades, clumps clippings and ruts soft soil, so a short delay is better for the lawn.

Can you take on a lawn that’s overgrown?

Yes. Very tall grass is brought down in stages over one or two visits so we don’t shock it. There may be a one-time charge for the first cut, and we’ll tell you up front.

Do I have to sign up for the whole season?

No. Residential mowing is billed per visit and you can pause or cancel with a week’s notice. Most clients stay all season because a consistent schedule is what keeps the lawn looking right.
